Attorneys and advocates who represent students accused of sexual assault say colleges and universities need to reconsider their Title IX policies in light of the Trump administration’s recent decision to scrap Obama-era Title IX guidance… “There is a clear signal by universities and colleges that are reaffirming their commitment to Obama-era policies,” said Andrew Miltenberg, an attorney who represents accused students and says he plans to file eight new lawsuits this month. “The schools that are not adjusting are the ones that are still coming out with ridiculous results. As students get expelled or suspended from these schools that aren’t changing their approach, the reality is those are the schools we’ll be going after.” Miltenberg dismissed the idea that schools are waiting for formal guidance and said instead he thinks it’s a political decision.
