Helen is a civil litigator with a significant background in complex commercial litigation cases including breach of contract actions, partnership conflicts, fraud claims, and real estate disputes. Helen’s business clients look to her as outside general counsel for advice on corporate matters such as potential liabilities and vulnerabilities, entity formation, regulatory compliance, and employment disputes.
Helen’s practice also includes substantial work in defamation cases and Title IX and Title VII, representing students and faculty members involved in higher education disciplinary matters, at the investigatory and hearing process through litigation.
Helen has successfully represented clients during all phases of litigation in courts throughout New York and New Jersey. She has experience litigating matters in both the State and Federal
Courts, including appeals. Helen’s broad litigation practice includes preparing complaints, conducting all aspects of fact and expert discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, motions for temporary restraining orders, motions for preliminary injunctions, and perfecting appellate briefs.
Helen also assists clients in resolving disputes through alternative means of dispute resolution such as mediation and private negotiations. Each of Helen’s clients receives reasoned and strategic counsel tailored to their particular goals and concerns.
