Evan Krutoy is a senior counsel at Nesenoff & Miltenberg, LLP. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a prosecutor at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for over 20 years. During his career he handled thousands of cases including many of the Office’s most high-profile homicide and rape cases. Evan served as Acting Deputy Bureau Chief of the Sex Crimes Unit and many of Evan’s sex crimes investigations involved large entities including the Boy Scouts of America as well as multiple private schools in the New York City area. During his tenure as a trial attorney Evan was appointed Senior Trial Counsel by then District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau for his excellence in the courtroom. Evan was later appointed as Special Counsel for Projects and Policy to District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. Transitioning from public practice to the private sector, Evan has flourished as a civil litigator using his finally honed skills in a broad range of cases including contract disputes and general civil litigation, with a particularized focus on Title IX litigation. His experience as a prosecutor informs his understanding of the importance of a process that is thorough and fair, and makes him uniquely qualified to critically assess the substantive and procedural weaknesses of a school’s investigation.

Evan is an adjunct professor at the New York University School of Law where he teaches an externship involving the criminal justice system.
